Custom Domain

Publish an active public status page on a subdomain you control.

A custom domain replaces the standard Upcron status address with a hostname such as status.example.com. Visitors, subscriber links, and incident emails use that hostname only after every verification check has passed.

Requirements

  • Plan — Pro and Agency include one custom domain for the organization. Free and Starter do not.
  • Owner — only the organization Owner can configure, retry, or remove it.
  • Status page — the page must be active and public. Each page can have one custom domain.
  • Hostname — use a subdomain, for example status.example.com. Apex domains such as example.com are not supported.

Configure the domain

  1. Open the status page and choose Configure custom domain.
  2. Enter the subdomain and save it.
  3. At your DNS provider, add every record shown in the editor. The hostname record is a CNAME pointing to statuspages.upcron.io. Extra records may be required to verify the hostname and the email domain.
  4. Wait until hostname, TLS certificate, and email domain are all verified. The domain becomes active only when all three checks pass.
  5. If you add or correct DNS records later, choose Retry verification.

While the domain is still being verified, keep sharing the standard Upcron status address. The custom hostname does not serve the page yet.

What changes when the domain is active

  • Visits to the standard status address redirect to https://status.example.com/.
  • Subscriber confirmation, verification, and unsubscribe links use the custom hostname.
  • Incident notifications are sent from the status page title at [email protected].
  • The default Upcron logo and the “Powered by Upcron” footer are hidden. If the page has no logo of its own, the page title is shown instead.

Remove or pause the domain

  • Delete custom domain, in the danger zone, removes it immediately. You can configure another hostname right away.
  • Making the status page private or inactive suspends the domain immediately.
  • Making that same page public and active again within 14 days restores the domain and continues verification.
  • After 14 days a suspended domain is gone. Configure it again if you still want to use it.

A suspended domain does not redirect visitors, and emails return to the standard Upcron sender and links. The custom hostname does not serve the page while it is suspended.

Troubleshooting

The domain stays on verification
  • Confirm every record in the editor exists at your DNS provider, including the CNAME to statuspages.upcron.io.
  • DNS changes can take time to propagate. Use Retry verification after they are in place.
  • The domain stays inactive until hostname, TLS certificate, and email domain are all verified.
The custom hostname does not show the status page
  • The page is served on the custom hostname only while the domain is active.
  • Check that the status page is still active and public.
  • A suspended domain is removed after the date shown in the editor.
Emails still come from Upcron
  • The custom sender and links are used only while the domain is active.
  • Confirm that the email-domain check in the editor has passed, then retry verification.
